As well as this, it upsets me because systemically, he should have done the basic “risk analysis” of asking the usual two basic questions:
- “what is my null hypothesis?”
- “what evidence do I have for this?”
Together with the ‘action’ question of
- “How will this affect the population at Google and the wider community if I get this wrong”
Which is a step formal engineering adds to the giant shoulders of science.
