Civitas’ research around the referendum was carried out by anti-EU UKIP supporters. The Burrage report in particular was peer reviewed and rejected. Not least because they tried to peddle the false statement that GDP is in any way a measure of trade. For anyone that knows anything about economics, it was garbage of the highest order. But it was peddled in the pro-Brexit agenda anyway. Since both advisers and trustees of Civitas were fully paid up UKIP members (as corroborated through leaked UKIP membership lists). That should put some context around anything Civitas produce(d) regarding the referendum.
