I’m not sure I agree with that. He didn’t prove the hypothesis, at least not in a statistical sense, but I’d argue it can be proven empirically. We just have to look at the demise of print to understand that effect. If print revenue reduces, so do jobs and wages.

Online content isn’t paid for, by anyone, bar ads or subscriptions. Unless you get a commission. Those are some of the only ways.

Hence, all we have to do is consider the amount of content that is generated relative to how much we consume of it and then pay for it. Very few make it to the latter and these numbers reflect systemically.

Let’s be realistic. Solopreneurs are going to find it extremely tough to compete with big distribution channels, especially in creative content. You’ll get one in a million, if that.
