Sure, and whilst you’re not the only commentator to raise this, I can’t see this as a defence. After all, one of the major things that wider complexity science gives us is an understanding that our behaviour affects the whole as well as the whole’s behaviour affecting us. We change our environment and it changes us. Of all the people you’d expect to understand this it is people who’ve been through his training. So at least his “gut feel” should have been tuned into to the effect he’d have as much as the effect it has on him.
